It was a quiet Thanksgiving holiday weekend in Quay County, according to police officials
There were two accidents and one DWI arrest in Quay County, New Mexico State Police Lt. Cleo Baker said.
There were no fatalities.
"It was a safe holiday weekend," Baker said. "The fact that people knew the DWI checkpoints were going on combined with our saturation patrols we effectively cut down on the number of DWIs."
The Tucumcari Police Department worked four accidents over the weekend and no DWIs, police consultant Daniel Lopez said.
"It was a very pleasant weekend for the Tucumcari Police Department," Lopez said. "It was a relatively safe weekend for travelers in Quay County."
