11-7 Tuck's Turf
Published: Tuesday, November 6th, 2007
For those of you who have not been around lately we are trying to do a little repair work on the cart paths and other items during the slow down period. And we are also directing a lot of time to irrigation repair. This down period from our everyday normal duties during the growing season helps us catch up with important items that get passed by due to those duties. Remember we are always open to some good suggestions, drop by the shop and fill out a suggestion form. Upcoming Event 4-Person Turkey Shoot Scramble is Nov. 18. Shogun start 12:30 p.m. sign up today. Blind Draw. Pointer of week I went through a period a few years ago when I chipped with my sand wedge from everywhere. Now, I'm back to the traditional style. I'm going with as much as a 7 iron when I need more roll. Grip down an inch or two to control the club better and improve your chances of making solid contact. Play the ball just behind the center in your stance, and put more weight on your front foot. Don't try to add wrist hinge on the backswing. Your wrists will naturally hinge a little. This tip comes from Annika Sorenstam. Howie Tucker is a PGA pro at the Tucumcari Municipal Golf Course.
