The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:
Monday
l At 3 p.m., a probation officer requested an officer to serve an outstanding warrant. One male subject was arrested for a Magistrate Court warrant for failure to pay fines.
l At 8:36 p.m., a female reported an unwanted subject at a restaurant on East Route 66. The officer was told that a female subject was in front of the restaurant panhandling. The officer advised the female to leave the area.
l At 10:38 p.m., a female reported a theft at a residence on South Fifth Street. An officer advised that the front tire of a vehicle had been stolen.
Tuesday
l At 12:42 a.m., an officer made contact with several juvenile subjects who were in the possession of alcohol on South Adams Street. The officer advised the subjects were trying to hide the containers when contact was made. Seven juveniles were cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
l At 7:07 a.m., a male reported vandalism on Sunburst Drive. An officer advised that a rock had been thrown through the back window of a vehicle.
l At 10:17 a.m., a male reported a burglary at a residence on South Eighth Street. An officer was told that a male subject was seen entering the residence through the window. The officer made contact with the subject and advised that all was OK. The owner was locked out of the residence and the male subject had climbed in the window to open the door.
l At 7:36 p.m., several callers reported hearing shots fired on South Dawson Street. A vehicle was stopped by an officer that matched the description given to them by the callers. Officers found evidence of one house being struck by gunfire in the area.
Wednesday
l At 9:52 a.m., a female reported a wanted subject at the probation office on East Main Street. One male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Oregon and was taken to the Quay County Detention Center.
l At 2:25 p.m., an officer requested a warrant check on a male subject who the officer stopped on West Route 66. Dispatcher told the officer the subject had multiple outstanding warrants from the Municipal and Magistrate courts. The male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center.
l At 9:56 p.m., a female reported an assault from the Emergency Room. An officer was told that a patient in the ER had injuries from a possible domestic dispute or fight. The officer advised that the female subject refused to give any information about the incident.
Thursday
l At 6:14 a.m., a female reported vandalism at a residence on East Turner. A brick had been thrown through a window on the east side of the residence, the report said.
l At 9:17 a.m., a male reported a burglary at a business on South Second Street. An officer was told that the lock on the front door had been broken off and smoking paraphernalia had been stolen from the business.
