Senior Connie Lau, above, puts the finishing touches on her name that she painted in both Chinese and English.
The seniors of Tucumcari High School took to the street to leave an artistic impression. With bright colors and contemporary designs with their own personal touches, the THS seniors painted their names in the road in front of the Snake Pit. "It's finally here," said Kylee Barnett. "Seems like we were just freshman watching the seniors do this. It seems like forever when you're in school but here we are about to graduate." "I have two names that I painted," said Connie Lau. "The first is my name in English and the other is my name in Chinese. I wanted to have something different from everyone else and my brother did the same thing when he graduated." Some of the seniors' families and friends helped out with their projects. "It's fun to do," said Sundra Span, mother of T'Shawna Span. "This gives us some quality time together before she graduates."
