Sky’s the limit... Skyler Lee Block celebrated her 6th birthday with a bowling party on Friday. Her birthday was April 12. Nicknamed "Sky," she is the daughter of Bret and Melanie Block of Tucumcari. Her brother is Gage Block, 2. Sky's grandparents are Randy and Carol Block and Tommy and Tara Wallace, all of Tucumcari. Her great-grandparents are Ray and Sug Block of House, Jack and Pearl Gilmore of Conchas, Maxine Wallace of Norton and Joe and Elenora Perez of Tucumcari. Newest arrival... Jadyn Miguela Sandoval arrived on April 2, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. Jadyn weighed nine pounds, 13 ounces. Jadyn's the daughter of John Sandoval and Alisa Keslar of Albuquerque. Her grandparents are Martha Sandoval and the late Camilo Sandoval of Tucumcari, Kathy and Ed Cove of San Jon and the late Daniel Keslar of Clovis. Jadyn's great-grandparents are Barbara and Richard Carroll of Clovis and Ken and Sandy Vandiver of Clovis, and Wes Baker of Tucumcari. Workshop available... The Extension Association of Quay County is hosting a Parliamentary Procedure Workshop for anyone interested in learning how to have smooth running meetings. It is important for all members of a group or organization to know basic parliamentary procedure so that meetings are fair for all who attend. With good skills everyone has a chance to be heard and to make good decisions that will benefit the whole group. This workshop will be 9 a.m. to noon April 27 at Mesaland’s Community College in Room A121. This free workshop will be presented by Jan Strand a certified parliamentarian from Santa Fe. Cancer Services of New Mexico's Family Cancer Retreat is being held May 18-20 in Glorieta. This free program provides New Mexico's adult cancer patients/survivors and their loved ones with tools and information they need to manage the treatment and survival process. Sessions on treatment options, navigating the health care system, palliative care, meditation, and a variety of other topics will be offered.
