Members of the Sandoval family took turns carrying the cross on Friday along Route 66 from Stuckey’s at I-40 to the little church, St. Joan of Arc, in Montoya. The walk is an annual pilgrimage by members of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari. This is the 10th year for the walk – a remembrance of Jesus’ walk to Calvary. The walk attracted about 100 from the area, Santa Fe, Amarillo, Texas and other cities.
