Wilma Lousie Carpenter

Services: 10 a.m., today at the First Baptist Church in Logan. Wilma Lousie Carpenter, 79, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at the Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 13, 1927 in Bassett, Neb. She spent her childhoon in Nebraska. After her marriage to Floyd Carpenter on Dec. 27, 1945, they lived in Iowa and Colorado and moved in 1963 to Albuquerque. She was employed for 20 years by the Levi Straus & Company. And in 1993 at which time she moved to Logan. She was a member of the 7th Day Church of God. She also was a member of theLogan Extension Club and loved going to the Logan Senior Citizens Center. Surviving Mrs. Carpenter are two sons, Gerald (Sheila) Carpenter of Dunning, Neb., and Wayne (Sally) Carpenter Ainsworth, Neb., two daughters, Janet (Tony) Lawrence of Logan and Susan Machan and Lars Leonard of Aztec, N.M., 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and her sister Vera Jilg of Bassett, Neb. Also surviving is her brother in law Floyd (Roxanne) Carpenter, sisters in law, Renee, Eleanor and Lorraine Carpenter. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Cecila Potratz, by two sisters, Marie Reed and Evelyn Johnson, by one daughter, Anita Rae, and one grandson Dustin Williams. Steve Kulback, minister of First Baptist Church of Logan, will officiate at the service. Family members will serve as active pall bearers. Burial will be in the family plot at the Logan Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
