The following is a sample of calls received by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department, during the last few days. According to reports: Thursday l At 2:02 p.m., a male reported a theft on South Eighth Street. An officer advised that a trailer and a engine was taken from the house. An investigation is under way. Friday l At 6:52 p.m., a female reported a stolen purse on South Third Street. The officer was told that the purse was last seen at a retail store on East Tucumcari Boulevard. The officer spoke with the manager of the store and advised that the purse was turned into the front desk by a shopper. The purse was returned to the owner. Sunday l At 1:28 p.m., a male reported a domestic dispute at his residence on East Hines. The officer advised that it was a verbal argument between a father and a son. The parties were separated for the night. l At 9:05 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute at her residence on East High. An officer advised that when he arrived the husband was assaulting the wife. When the officer called for assistance, the male subject ran from the home and away from the officer. The officer caught the suspect on Monroe Street. The male subject was taken to the Quay County Detention Center. He was charged with evading arrest and aggravated battery of a household member. l At 10:50 p.m., an alarm was reported at a gas station on West Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer checked the building and all was secure. Monday l At 12:08 a.m., a female reported possible gun shots on South Ninth Street. An officer patrolled the area and advised that it was only people lighting fireworks for the New Year’s. l At 1:26 a.m., a female reported a fight at a lodge on East Main Street. An officer advised that the problem had been resolved prior to arriving and all was OK. l 3:17 a.m., a female reported suspicious activity at a residence on South Third. An officer made contact with the residence’s occupants and one male subject was arrested for giving, selling alcohol to minors and disorderly conduct. Another male subject was cited for disorderly conduct and two juvenile males were cited for minors in possession of alcohol. l At 4:54 a.m., an alarm was reported at a restaurant on South First Street. An officer checked the building and advised that all was OK. The manager was contacted and the alarm was reset. l At 8:53 a.m., an alarm was reported at an office on South Eleventh Street. An officer made contact with a male subject inside the building. He was an instructor but had been given the wrong code for the alarm. All was OK and the alarm was reset. l At 1:56 p.m., an alarm was reported on South College Street. An officer checked the building and all was secure.
