The Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce judged its annual residential and business Christmas lighting contest Monday evening. Anonymous judges traveled around Tucumcari to decide the winners of the contest, a cash prize was awarded for the top three residential entries and top three business entries. First place winners received $75, second $50 and third place $25. A total of $300 was awarded which was donated by Excel Energy. Residential winners 1st: Michael Romero, 406 East High Street. 2nd: Gregg Sappington, 1705 South Fifth Street. 3rd: Albert Mayfield, 814 Mesquite Street. Business winners 1st: Sundowner Gallery, 1701 South First Street. 2nd: Pow Wow South Apartments, 411 East Washington Street. 3rd: Everyone's Federal Credit Union, 508 East Tucumcari Boulevard.
