New Mexico State Police arrested Grant L. Wilson, 43, of Tucumcari on Nov. 11. He is charged with one count of criminal sexual penetration and criminal sexual contact of a minor, according to a police press release. The arrest warrant in court documents alleges that the crimes occurred when the child was 13 to 16 years of age. The minor was taken from the home and placed with Children Youth and Family Department, said Len Walker, senior trial prosecutor with the District Attorney's office. Wilson was arrested at his home, the release said. He was arraigned in Magistrate Court on Nov. 15, where he pleaded not guilty and bond was set at $30,000, court documents show. His bond was posted on Nov. 17 and public defender, Roger Bargas, was assigned to represent Wilson. Wilson was reached early Tuesday evening at his home for comment. He said, "You'll have to contact my attorney." Bargas could not be reached for comment.
