The Junior High Rattlers earned another win in Clayton.
The Rattlers won 38-8 against the Clayton Yellowjackets on Thursday night once the team turned on its defensive action.
“The defense is the heart of the team,” Coach Eddie Encinias said.
The Rattlers were trailing 8-0 in the first quarter. But the defense rallied and did not allow Clayton to score again in the game.
Encinias said, “The boys haven’t trailed in a game that much this season. They responded well to the pressure and we went on a 38-0 run. Our defense really stepped up in the game by not allowing them to score.
“The offense did an excellent job. We are very proud of how they played.”
The Junior High Rattlers’ next game is at 4:30 p.m. today against Robertson at Las Vegas.
