Wanda L. Smith Services: Graveside Funeral Services at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Wanda L. Smith, 79, died Thursday following an extended illness. The daughter of Fred and Mae Latham, Mrs. Smith was born March 1, 1927 in Paragould, Ark. She was married to David “Dee” Smith on Aug.13, 1947. Mrs. Smith had resided in Albuquerque for many years before coming to Tucumcari where she and her family have been long-time residents. Survivors include four daughters: Joyce (Jerry) Alvis of Plainview, Texas, and Alice King, Sheila Thorsen and Patricia (Tom) Evans, all of Tucumcari; and two sons: David (Andria) Smith of Tucumcari and Carl (Angela) Smith of Albuquerque. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband and a a son, Gary Smith. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Guadalupe Chavez “Lupe” Rico Services: Have not been planned. Guadalupe "Lupe" Chavez Rico, 74, of Pomona died July 5, 2006. She was born on Feb. 28, 1932 in Tucumcari. Mrs. Rico is survived by her daughters, Rachael (Alex) Hendren of Albuque rque; Henrietta (Henry) Hernandez of Chino, Calif.; Connie (Alex) Shotkoski, of Chino; and sons, Leo Martinez and Vincent Salazar, both of Chino. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Martinez of Chino and Martina Shoemaker of New Mexico; and brothers, Raymond and Fidel, both of Tucumcari. Mrs. Rico is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rico was preceded in death by son Jerry Barreras; sisters Margarita Macias of Tucumcari; Mary Salazar of Chino; and a brother Manuel Chavez of Tucumcari. Burial will be at Tucumcari Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Funeraria Del Angel Griffith Mortuary, Chino, Calif.
