Youth lessons School is out and the golfing season is here. Junior lessons for youths will be starting 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Tucumcari Municipal Golf Course. There will be 90-minute classes for children ages 7-17. Classes will cover the basics of the game of golf. Children are advised to wear light clothing, proper shoes and sunblock. Equipment will be provided, or you may use your own. The first session will be to organize and possibly split abilities if needed. Classes will go through the summer months. There will be a fee of $5 per child per session. For the advanced juniors, weekday sessions will be the same as last year — Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 1, at 9:30 a.m. each day. The ladies group lesson will be Wednesdays at 6 p.m. The cost is $5 per session. Fun nights Thursday evenings, we would like to host a fun night for all golfers starting around 6 p.m. with different types of fun formats. The plan is to have someone host and plan the play for that day. A.C. Chavarria from Team Builders will host the first fun night June 1. The fee will be $5 per player.
