Today — A special City Commission meeting is being held at City Hall at 11 a.m. for a ceremony during which Mayor Mary Mayfield and City Commissioners will be presented a $900,000 grant check by USDA Rural Development Site Director Paul Gutierrez, city officials said. According to a release from the city commission, speakers will include aides to Senator Pete Dominici, Senator Jeff Bingaman and Congressman Tom Udall, as well as Paul Gutierrez and Mayor Mayfield. Wednesdays ongoing — Story Time for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 continues at the Tucumcari Public Library, with registration ongoing. Three sessions will be held on Wednesdays through today. The Caprock Creek Ranch Adventures wagon will make five runs — beginning at 10 and 11:15 a.m. and 12:30, 1:45 and 3 p.m. — with a limit of 20 people per ride.
