Jennie Fields Services: Have been held. Jennie Lou Fields, 82, died on Friday, Dec. 9, 2005. She was born Feb. 7, 1923, in Tucumcari. She had been a homemaker and was a member of the First Christian Church of Tucumcari. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basom (Tucum) Fields, in 1999. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Fields of Tucumcari; four grandchildren, Warren Fields and Kimberly Rich, both of Tucumcari, Leighanne Smith of Gloucester, Va., and Virginia and Guy Williams of Elderburg, Md.; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis Kinkead (and wife, Jo) of Junction, Texas, and Jimmy Kinkead (Rosemary) of Blue River, Ore.; two sisters, Dorothy Farmer of Albuquerque and JoAnne Crocket of Winslow, Ariz. Services were held in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Witcher, minister of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial followed in the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Honorary pall bearers were Lewis Kinkead, Jimmy Kinkead, Warren Fields, Pat Andrews, T. J. Rich and Phill Bidegain. Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Porfiria Montoya Services: Have been held. Porfiria “Porfie” Montoya, 92, of Mosquero, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, in Las Vegas, N.M. She was born on Sept. 15, 1913, in Albert, N.M., to the late Eusebio Montano and Isabelita Bueno. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Montoya; her sons, Robert Montano, Louis Montoya Jr. and Clarence Fred Montoya; her parents; her brothers, Gabriel Montano, Alonzo Montano (and wife, Isabel) and Joe Montano; her sisters, Dominga Trujillo and Jane Graves; and grandchildren, Joseph Vigil, Tony Martinez, Julian Martinez and Clifford Vigil. She is survived by her daughters, Viola Whorton (and husband, John) of Albuquerque, Mary Louise Vigil of Amarillo, Levina Martinez (Edward) of San Jon, Gloria Montoya Silva of Albuquerque and Juliana Martinez (Abe) of Roy; her brothers, Fermin Montano (Rebecca) of Dalhart and Eusebio Montano of Albuquerque; her sisters, Alegra Blea of Pecos and Flora Baca (Eloy) of Albuquerque. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will held at St. Joseph Church in Mosquero with the Rev. David Phillipson officiating. Burial followed at the Mosquero Community Cemetery. Pall bearers were Jose Martinez Jr., Robert Montano, Gabriel Montano, Danny Apodaca, Eloy Perea, Michele Taylor, Jacob Trujillo and Denita Vigil. Honorary pall bearer was Leroy Gonzales. Arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Home of Las Vegas, N.M. Fern Orbison Services: 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 at Tucumcari Memorial Cemetery. Fern Orbison, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, in Arlington, Texas. She was born to John Riley and Lillian Odessa (Niece) Trantham on March 3, 1920, in Corlina, Texas. She married Lee Orbison on Oct. 6, 1946, in Albuquerque. He preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1983. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Stephenville, Texas. She is survived by two sons, Lynn Orbison of Rhome, Texas, and Phil Orbison (and wife, Linda) of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Neva and Jonathon Levy of Arlington; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 15 at Lacy Funeral Home of Stephenville. David England will officiate the services at Tucumcari Memorial Cemetery.
