Wednesdays and Fridays ongoing — “La Voz” Hispanic radio program airs on KTNM 1400 AM radio on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday— The Quay County Zero Gravity Youth Center is hosting an alcohol, drug and tobacco-free dance for area youth at 118 E. Friday — Farm bill listening session from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces. Speakers need not pre-register and will get two minutes to speak their minds, according to the release from the U.S.D.A. Written comments may be submitted on their Web site at www.usda.gov/farmbill. Saturday — Bluegrass Music Program, Quay County Exhibit Hall, at 7 p.m. Call 461-0457. Monday — U.S. Representative Tom Udall will host a town hall meeting from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Tucumcari Senior Center, 523 S. Third St., to discuss Social Security. Free and open to the public. Monday — Logan Board of Education will hold an open meeting beginning at 6 p.m. in the library to interview applicants for school board member. Tuesday — Senator Domenici’s staff will be at Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce office from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 31 — Altrusa volunteers will have collation of yearbooks at noon at Glenda Reid’s house. Call 461-2244. Beginning Sept. 2 — Thank Goodness It’s Friday (TGIF) will be ongoing on the Fridays when there is no school in Tucumcari and when there is no scheduled holiday. The program for students in kindergarten through fifth grade will be held at the First Christian Church at 1701 South 4th St. from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is on Saturdays from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Sept. 7 — Altrusa will hold its program meeting at Bambinos Restaurant at noon, to include yearbook distribution The Literacy Committee will present the program recognizing Literacy Month. Call Glenda Reid at 461-2244. Sept. 8 — Tucumcari City Commission will hold its regular meeting in the City Commission Chambers at 215 E. Center Street at 6 p.m. to consider adopting Ordinance 1004. Copies of the proposed ordinance are available for public inspection during the city clerk’s regular business hours. Sept. 8 — The Lawyer Referral for the Elderly Program (LREP) is offering a free legal workshop at the Pioneer Senior Center, 523 S.
