According to Quay County Deputy Sheriff Frank Conley, a single-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon near San Jon sent an Amarillo man to Northwest Texas Medical Center where he is in critical condition. Charles Widick, 55, was found inside his Chevrolet Suburban after it had rolled over at the intersection of Quay Road S and Route 66. Conley said Widdick was airlifted to the Amarillo hospital following discovery of the accident. According to a hospital official, Widdick is in the surgical intensive care unit. Conley said the accident is still under investigation.
