Laverne A. Pearcey Laverne A. Pearcey, 81, of Aztec, died Feb. 9, 2005 at his residence. Pearcey was born March 26, 1923 in Bennett, Colo. to Roland and Helen Pearcey. He was a member of the Tucumcari Lions Club, the Farmington Elks Club and the Aztec American Legion. He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Doris. Survivors include his wife, Arloa; a son, Gene Pearcey (and wife Karen) of Durango, Colo.; a brother Roy Pearcey (Nell) of Stotts City, Mo.; three step-children, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Feb. 10 at Greenmont Cemetery in Durango, Colo. with Rev. David Skinner officiating. Arrangements were made by Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec.
