Children enjoy weekly stories
Published: Saturday, January 15th, 2005
It’s story time again. “It is so much fun,” said Erica Lopez of Tucumcari Public Library, where the children’s activities take place. “All of the library staff take turns at (the weekly) storytellers.” Lopez said story time will be held every Wednesday from Jan. 19 through April 6. It’s open to children from 2 1/2 to 5. “They really seem to enjoy it,” Lopez said. “You can tell right in their faces. They really light up when they get to their favorite parts and they get into it.” Lopez said the stories come with craft activities. “They really love that,” Lopez said. Three different sessions are held each Wednesday. The morning sessions run from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The afternoon sessions are from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lopez said 45 to 50 children usually came for story time in the fall.
