The Logan’s American Legion Post 77 will be honoring America’s veterans Saturday, Nov. 13 with a special Veterans’ Appreciation Dinner at the Post’s bingo hall. “We think these people are our nation’s heroes,” said Arlin Cordova, one of the organizers of the annual event from the Logan American Legion Ladies Auxiliary”. “These veterans are very special, and it is the least we can do is to dedicate a dinner to them.” For that reason, area veterans and their quests will dine free on beef brisket, cold slaw, beans and dessert. Cordova said World War II veterans will be the special focus of the evening. “We hope as many of them (World War II veterans) as possible will attend and be honored at the dinner,” said Cordova. Cordova said in addition to the actual dinner which will begin at 6 p.m., there will be a special “get acquainted” hour beginning at 5 p.m. “We are really looking forward to this,” said Cordova. “We want it to be something that really shows our respect.” “We’re hoping as many veterans as possible will turn out,” said Cordova, “especially those who served in World War II.” For more information, call 487-2977 or 487-2805.
