Vern Allen Minnard Vern Allen MInnard, 44, died in Fontana, Calif. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004. Vern Minnard was born March 26, 1960 in Tucumcari. He was a truck driver and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his parents Allen E. and Mary Ellen Minnard of Tucumcari; two brothers, Henry MInnard (Dawn) of Loveland, Colo. and Allen E. Minnard Jr. (Erika) of Amarillo; three sisters, Jackie West (Danny) of Dumas, Texas, Vonda Cooka (Rob) of Plattsmith, Neb. and Tracy Minnard also of Plattsmith. Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at St. Anne’s. A Mass of Resurrection will be offered on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Anne’s. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Dathan Ray Garcia Dathan Ray Garcia, 17, died on Saturday in Portales as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Dathan Garcia was born April 1, 1987 in Clayton. At the time of his death he was a junior at Logan High School in Logan. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari. He was active in School sports at Logan and also was an active rodeoer. He is survived by his parents Danny and Janie Garcia of Tucumcari; sisters Danna Trujillo (Mario) of Jacksonville, Johnna Garcia of Portales and Janesa Garcia of Tucumcari. He is also survived by his grand parents of Roy and a niece. Rosary services will be recited on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. A Mass of Resurrection will be offered on Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Anne’s. Also on Thursday, there will be an 11 a.m. service in the Logan Gymnasium. The casket will then be taken to Roy for internment at the Roy Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Dathan Garcia Memorial Rodeo Scholarship Fund at the First National Bank in Tucumcari.
