Three students at Mesalands Community College have been awarded the Hispanic Opportunity Grant for tuition and/or fees while enrolled at Mesalands. Recipients of the grant include John P. Garcia, Eric Mascarenas, and Josephine Sena. The grant has been established as a result of the Mesalands Community College Foundation Annual Hispanic Scholarship Fund raiser held each spring of the year. The grant is offered to full-time and part-time students who hold a New Mexico high school graduation diploma or are Graduate Equivalency Diploma holders. Also, students must be of 25 percent or greater Hispanic descent. “We are pleased that these awards are available as a result of our Annual Hispanic Scholarship Fund raiser, and we would like to congratulate the recipients,” said Greta Estes, Dean of Student Services at Mesalands.
