The House volleyball team came out of the Roy Tournament with a good feeling about the rest of the season. The House squad lost one and won two. The Cowgirls lost to Floyd in three 25-17, 25-14, 25-11. House head coach Marc Foust said that Floyd was just too good for the young House team. “Honestly, we looked young,” said Foust. The Cowgirls responded with a win over the Tucumcari Junior Varsity team 25-9, 25-11, 22-25, 25-17. Foust said he felt his girls turned something of a corner with the win and felt, “It was probably the best game we’ve played all season.” In their final game of the tournament, the House girls defeated Maxwell in five games. 25-16, 15-25, 23-25, 25-22, 17-15. Foust said he saw a great deal of improvement in his girls over the two days of the tournament. He said he was very impressed with a number of his girls especially regarding their serving.
