Aaron Sanders Parker Aaron Sanders Parker, 89, of Tucumcari died Wednesday, July 28, 2004. He was born March 29, 1915 in Quay County at the Quay Valley ranch home of Sanders Ewell Parker and Myrtle Evelyn Peggram Parker. A 1933 graduate of Tucumcari High School, he graduated from New Mexico A&M College in 1938 with a degree in Animal Husbandry. Parker married Edna Juanita Behimer of Kenton, Okla., in 1939 and the couple purchased a ranch in Oklahoma where they lived until returning to Quay County in 1957. In 1966 Parker was the FFA Honorary State Farmer . In 1972 he received the New Mexico Soil Conservationalist of the Year Award and the N.M. Bankers Association award for range improvements he made. He is survived by four children: Juanita Marie “Nita Re” Thomas (Charley) of Tucumcari, Patricia Nell “Patsy” Thompson (Frank) of Springer, Raymond Frank Parker (Gigi) of Tucumcari, and James Donald Parker (Becky Janice) of Keystone, Neb.; nine grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Parker was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Sanders Parker; his wife, Edna Parker; his parents; three brothers, James Otis Parker, D’Roy Parker, and Ira William Parker; two sisters, Ivy May Parker and Bertha Lee Parker, and one grandson. Services were held Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home with burial following at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
