Conchas Lake State Park will be offering interpretive programs and presentations each Saturday this month. The programs are free to the public. On Saturday July 10 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Steve Cary, a New Mexico State Parks Ranger, will lead guests on a butterfly walk at the park. Cary is an expert entomologist . Guests will be allowed to observe, net, examine and release different butterflies of the area. On Saturday July 17 a “Star Party” presentation with telescope viewing will be offered from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On Saturday July 24 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. a boating safety program will be offered. The presentation will be especially helpful to new boaters as many fundamentals of boating will be taught. A Paleontology in New Mexico presentation will be offered Saturday July 31 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Craig Currell, Director of the Tucumcari Dinosaur Museum will lead the presentation.
