Kryptic wins battle of bands

A band called “Kryptic” won the $200 top prize at last weekend’s Battle of the Bands held at Tucumcari Convention Center. Kryptic’s members have New Mexico State University and Tucumcari connections.
The second place prize went to Eternal Funk, a band with Levelland College and Tucucmari connections and third prize went to Shana and the Outlaw Band. Shana Harmon, the lead singer, is the wife of K-Bob’s Steakhouse owner Ross Harmon. Around 175 people attended the day-long band battle in addition to the band members and their helpers.
