Mesalands truckers get green light

Mesalands Community College’s Commercial Truck Driving program has been given a five-year recertification by Professional Truck Driver Institute of Alexandria, Va. In the letter granting the recertification, the PTDI representative said, “Congratulations on this significant (five-year) achievement.” According to MCC truck-driving instructor Jerry Welch, the PTDI is recognized throughout the trucking industry as the standard for excellence in training truck drivers. “Trucking firms recognize the standard set by PTDI and know that Commercial Truck Driving students at Mesalands will receive quality classroom instruction and substantial hands-on experience,” said Truck Driving Instructor, Jerry Welch. The PTDI reviewed the Mesalands facilities, curriculum, and instructor credentials prior to awarding the program certification. The Commercial Truck Driving course at Mesalands is offered at regular intervals throughout the year. The next course will be offered August 23.
