Jesse L. Shugart Jesse L. Shugart, 82, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, in Amarillo. Shugart was born March 14, 1921 in Des Moines, N.M. Shugart was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II in First Army, Fourth Infantry. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. Shugart is survived by his wife, Bonnie Shugart, of Gladstone, a son, Dennis Shugart (Deana) of Dalhart, and a daughter, Teresa Brown (Gale) of Tucumcari. He is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services were held Friday in Clayton at the First Baptist Church. Rev, Billy Rammage officiated. Burial took place in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery, arrangements were made by Hass Funeral Directors. Rose Lucinda Dominguez Rose Lucinda Dominguez, 83, died in Tucumcari Feb. 23 following an extended illness. Dominguez was born Jan. 22, 1921 in Hudson. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Does #210. Dominguez is survived by her son, Joe Dominguez (Mary) of Tucumcari, and her daughter, Sylvia Parks (David) of Virginia Beach, Va. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Dominguez was preceded in death by her husband, Ike J. Dominguez, and her son, Fred Dominguez. A daughter, Rosall, and a son, Robert died shortly after birth. Rosary will be recited at St. Anne’s Catholic Church Sunday at 7 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at the church Monday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Leo Padget as celebrant. Martha Welch Martha Welch, 56, died at her residence in Tucumcari Feb. 21 after an extended illness. Welch was born Sept. 13, 1947 in Tucumcari where she was a homemaker and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Welch was also a member of the Christian Mothers and the Blue Army, and served on the Head Start Policy Council. Welch is survived by her husband, Richard Welch, four daughters, Yvette Fazekas (Michael) of Tucumcari, Adrienne Lopez (Joey) of Tucumcari, Veronica Sandy (Carlos) of Las Vegas, Nev. and Nancy Brewer (Marvin) of Levelland, Texas; one son, Richard Welch II of Tucumcari; a sister, Mary Rose Magers (Tom) of Levelland, Texas, and a brother, Daniel Montoya (Margaret) of Albuquerque. Welch is also survived by eight grandchildren. Rosary was recited Friday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be offered Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Anne’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Leo Padget as celebrant. Johnie Opal Parker Johnie Opal Parker, 90, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 in Dalhart. Parker was born June 27, 1913 in McAlister. Parker married her husband Robert W. Parker in Tucumcari in 1935. Parker and her husband owned and raised racehorses. They had resided in Dalhart since 1994. Parker is survived by a son, Bill Parker (Linda) of Phoenix, daughters, Nita Baca (Edwin) of Dalhart, Tommie Martinez of Albuquerque, Lynda Moore (Randy) of Dalhart, and a brother, Lawrence Young (Maxine) of Portales. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Parker, her parents, numerous brothers and sisters, two grandsons and one great grandson. Services will be held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart. Dr. Clifford Dane will officiate. Burial will take place in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery at 3 p.m. under direction of Horizon Funeral Home.
