David Largent David Largent, 77, died Sept. 14, 2003 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo. He was born July 12, 1926 in Merkel, Texas. Mr. Largent was a member of the Center Street United Methodist Church of Tucumcari. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Largent was active in the promotion of the Hereford Cattle Breed and was a third generation registered Hereford breeder. Family members said he was a respected judge of several local, state, national and international Hereford shows. Mr. Largent served on the board of directors and as president for the American Hereford Association. The year 2002 marked the Largent family’s 100th anniversary in the Hereford business. Survivors include his wife Freda of Glenrio; two sons, Steve Largent and Mark Largent of Kaycee, Wyo.; one brother, Rust Largent of Ft. Davis, Texas; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services were 10 a.m. Thursday at the Center Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. Scott Seymour officiated. Burial will follow at the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Leon Wilson Leon Wilson, 44, of Clovis, died Sept. 12, 2003 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born Feb. 17, 1959 to Lamon and Irene Weaver Wilson in Dumas, Texas. Mr. Wilson married Carolyn Jobe on Aug. 4, 1984 in Clovis. He worked as a radiator repairman at the Wilson Radiator & Speedometer shop. He owned Everlasting Creations since 1992. Family members said he loved to fish, garden, woodworking and cooking. He is preceded in death by his mother; sister, Mariann Adams and one nephew, Brian Wilson. Survivors include his wife Carolyn of the home, one son, Cales Wilson, one daughter, Amber Wilson both of the home; his father, two brothers, Lamon “Bill” Wilson Jr. and Hoyt Wilson all of Dalton, Ga.; one sister, Imagene Rainey of Amarillo and 32 nieces and nephews. Services were Tuesday afternoon at the First Assembly of God in Clovis. Bobby Burris officiated. Burial followed at the Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
