The Portales Rams get their first look at outside competition today when they visit Lubbock to take on the Roosevelt Eagles in a 5 p.m. (MDT) start.

The teams met in a preseason scrimmage last year at the PHS practice field and Roosevelt dominated with four touchdowns to none for the Rams.

Portales is looking for improvement this season on last year’s 1-9 record. The Rams open the regular season a week from today with a 7 p.m. kickoff against Las Vegas Robertson at Greyhound Stadium.
