The Faith Triumphant Christian School Conquerors were eliminated in a 61-46 defeat by the Paris Home School Warriors in the first round of the Texas Christian Athletic League state boys basketball tournament being played this week on the campus of Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas.

Senior Colton Phelps had a stellar game in his last outing as a Conqueror, pouring in 20 points (including two 3-pointers), grabbing 11 rebounds, racking up six steals and five assists. Junior Chance Robbins added 14 points, six rebounds, and six steals.

This was the inaugural year for playing in the tournament for the Conquerors, and the Warriors took advantage, jumping to a 16-10 first-quarter lead. FTCS narrowed it to 23-27 at the half, got within three in the third, but could never pull ahead.

The Warriors took a 41-31 lead going into the final stanza and extend their lead to 15 points midway in the fourth before the Conquerors made a late run. FTCS managed to get back within 10.
