Goddard (8-9) at Clovis (16-2)
7 p.m., Rock Staubus Gymnasium
• Radio: KCLV-AM 1240, KTQM-FM 99.9
• Last time out: Clovis was unchallenged Tuesday against Lubbock Christian, winning 75-31. The Rockets absorbed a 51-48 loss to Santa Teresa on Tuesday.
• Last meeting: 2010, Clovis routed the Rockets 76-32.
• Rockets players to watch: Lane Vander Hulst, 6-5, Jr., F; Ruben Otero, 6-1, Sr., G.
• About Goddard: The Rockets aren’t tearing up Class 4A, but they’re improved over last year, having already matched their 2009-10 win total.
“We haven’t been able to get any film,” Clovis coach J.D. Isler said. “We’ve just got some scouting reports over the phone. They’re a little bit bigger inside. They’ve got two 6-5 kids, and they’re pressing more than in the past.”
• What’s coming: “We expect them to play a zone, and we want to get off to a good start offensively,” Isler said. “We’ve got to make sure we’re attacking their zone and not stationary.”
• Health: The Wildcats are mostly healthy. Isler said senior post Lincoln Nora injured his wrist when he took a fall in practice, but he’s expected to play.
