TEXICO — Sophomore Shaylee Anderson scored 21 points and Texico put four players in double figures en route to a 68-44 victory over Melrose in the girls championship game of the Citizens Bank Border Shootout on Saturday night.

Twins Jaylyn and Jordyn Cooper added 18 and 16 points, respectively, for the Lady Wolverines (5-0, while senior Morgan Pinnell chipped in 10 points. Texico turned a one-point lead after one quarter into a 33-23 margin at halftime and never looked back.

Sophomore Cara Barnard scored 19 points for the Lady Buffaloes (2-1).

Farwell 41, Floyd 22 (3rd) — Abby Johnson and Keila Jennings scored 12 points each and the Lady Blue (5-4) opened a 16-point halftime lead by outscoring Floyd 12-2 in the second period. Clarisa Garcia scored all of her points in the period on a pair of 3-pointers.

Floyd (2-3) was led by senior Tori Tucker with 10 points. Farwell’s defense held the Lady Broncos to six field goals.

Clovis JV 53, Logan 33 (5th) — The Lady Wildcats outscored Logan 15-6 in the second quarter to take an 11-point lead into halftime and were never theatened.

Carrie Sharp had 15 points for the Lady Cats (3-1), while Megan Brady added 13. Nicole Collins topped the Lady Longhorns (1-2) with 12 points.

Dexter 76, Bovina 41 (7th) — The Lady Demons (1-4) went on a 24-7 run in the third quarter to open a 27-point cushion against the Fillies.

Jenna Garcia led Dexter with 24 points, while Hannah Maneman and Evelyn Dominguez chipped in 11 apiece and Silva Mediano scored 10. For Bovina (0-7), Liz Chavez put in nine points and Edith Gomez and Sam Villarreal added eight apiece.
