Clovis Christian will field a high school girls basketball team this season after all, athletic director Wes Weems said Wednesday.
Weems said Tuesday the high school girls season would be canceled because of a lack of student interest.
He said two students had a change of heart and decided to play basketball, giving the Class 1B Eagles six players. A seventh player who transferred to CCS is expected to become eligible in mid-January.
Weems said the team will start practice Thursday. The Eagles’ first game is Dec. 4.
