Difference: The Eagles opened a 27-7 lead after the first quarter and ended the game on the 45-point lead run with about seven minutes left in the third quarter.
Difference-makers: Senior running back Mike Urioste scored six of the Eagles’ 10 touchdowns, including one each on a punt return and a kickoff return. Junior Kevin Naceanceno ran for two TDs, while junior Kenny Duong and senior Mike Root each caught a scoring pass from freshman QB Kendall Naceanceno.
By the numbers: Urioste has now scored 19 touchdowns this season, while Kevin Naceanceno has nine.
Coach’s comment: “Our offense looked incredible. Our blocking was exceptional, the best it’s been all season. They (Roadrunners) moved the ball on us better than anybody has.” — CCS coach Jason Swann.
Clovis JV (2-0) at Texico (2-1)
Weather problems: The game was halted by moonsonal rains and lightning with 4:28 left in the first quarter and Texico leading 7-0 on senior quarterback Jose Posada’s 9-yard touchdown run.
After waiting the required 45 minutes, school officials decided to suspend the game until 10 a.m. Saturday.
The game with resume from the point at which it was stopped.
