Of note: Both teams are well-positioned to win their districts and are tuning up for postseason. … The Coyotes are ranked No. 1 in Class 4A. Clovis is No. 8 in Class 5A. … Both teams were part of the New Mexico/Arizona Challenge last month at The Rock. The Coyotes edged Phoenix North and lost to Estralla Valley, while the Cats suffere a pair of losses. “We watched them both games, (and) we knew they’d be a tough matchup for us when we got to them," CHS interim coach Scott Robinson said. … Even at his size, Oleskinksi is a capable 3-point shooter. “We’re going to have to be aware of where he is,” said Robinson, adding that seniors Marcus Slocum or Kyler Brewer-Hill are most likely to guard him. …  Senior G Landyn Snipes (heart condition) will miss his third consecutive game, but Robinson hopes he’ll be back for next week’s District 4-5A clashes against Carlsbad on Tuesday and at Hobbs on Friday.

Last meeting: The teams played on Saturday at The Rock, with Clovis winning 39-32.
Roswell High players to watch: Shanice Steenholdt, 6-0 Jr. C.
Of note: Clovis is No. 6 in Class 5A, while Roswell High is No. 4 in Class 4A. … The Lady Cats never trailed in last week’s meeting, but struggled to 38 percent floor shooting and could never put distance between themselves and the Lady Coyotes. “I expect a big crowd at their place,” CHS coach Jeff Reed said. “I told the girls (Thursday), ‘There’s not a doubt in their mind that they can beat us.’”… Steenholdt led all scorers with 17 points in the contest. Senior P Antiesha Brown was Clovis’ lone double-figure scorer with 11. … The Lady Cats finish the regular season next week with district games at Carlsbad on Tuesday and at home against Hobbs on Friday.
