The Clovis High girls basketball team will finally get to play tonight after the first two games of a three-game weekend stretch were postponed.

The Lady Wildcats (14-4) will travel to winless Roswell Goddard (0-20) for a 7 p.m. varsity contest tonight. Home games against Roswell High on Thursday and Artesia on Friday were postponed due to Thursday’s snowstorm.

Lady Cats coach Jeff Reed said he is hopeful of rescheduling the Roswell High game, perhaps for next Saturday, with a determination to be made on Monday. The Artesia game is less likely to be rescheduled, he said.

The Clovis-Goddard game was part of an 18-game schedule for Saturday. Texico’s District 6-2A games at Tucumcari will be played tonight as scheduled after the schools waited until Saturday morning to make a final decision.

Meantime, Saturday night’s District 4-1A doubleheader sending Logan to Clovis Christian was postponed until Tuesday, with games scheduled for 5:30 (girls) and 7 p.m. (boys). CCS girls coach Max Kralicek said some of Logan’s players living out of town were going to have trouble getting in to the school to make the trip.
