ELIDA — Blake Martin pitched six innings and Chet Chenault and Ben Lindsey each drove in four runs Monday night as Floyd clinched second place in District 7-1A/2A baseball and a berth in state competition with a 15-4 victory over Elid.

Chenault went 3-for-4, including a three-run homer, and scored four times while Lindsey was 2-for-4 with a triple for the Broncos (10-9, 5-2 district), who had 12 hits. Luis Ortiz and J’Kobie Lee each added two hits and scored three runs for Floyd, which broke open a 4-3 game with 11 runs in the final three innings.

Martin allowed seven hits and four runs in six innings, walking six and striking out seven. Chay Chenault worked the final inning.

Ryan Best, losing pitcher Levi Massey and Jose Muniz all notched two of the Tigers’ eight hits.
