Dora junior Molly Garcia defends Elida junior Britnie Powell Saturday night in the one-game tiebreaker to determine seeding in the District 3-1A tournament. Elida won 47-44 in overtime at Portales High School and will host the district championship Saturday night.

The Elida boys also won, beating Melrose 66-64 in double overtime in the first round of the boys District 3-1A tournament. Ryan Best led the Tigers with 18 points followed by Kody Paiz' 14 points. Elida travels to Floyd Monday in the district semifinals.
