Notes: The Lynxettes, runnersup in District 1-2A, advanced to the area round. Muleshoe finished third in District 2-2A. … The Lady Mules led almost the entire first half. “The first half was probably the best defense we’ve played all year,” Muleshoe coach Val Acree said. “We gave them all they wanted.” … Spearman took the lead with a 6-0 run to start the third quarter and kept it the rest of the way. Muleshoe used an 8-2 surge to cut a seven-point deficit to 36-35 with 2 1/2 minutes left on two free throws by senior Morgan Smith, but the Lynxettes scored the final seven points. “The Espinosa girl’s 3-pointer (in that run) was huge,” Acree said.
