ARTESIA — Clovis High’s girls didn’t have many people contributing to the scoring column Friday night, but they didn’t need many.

Junior post Antiesha Brown led four players in double figures with 21 points and the Lady Wildcats cruised to their seventh win in a row and 12th in 13 games, a 61-46 decision over Artesia.

The Lady Cats (16-4) return to action in a 7 p.m. tipoff today against Roswell Goddard at Rock Staubus Gym.

Senior Brittany Johnson added 15 points, sophomore Ashlee Pierson scored 12 and senior Jadee Isler had 11 for Clovis, which pulled away after leading 14-11 at the end of one quarter.

The Lady Cats led 26-16 at halftime, then dominated the third quarter behind 10 points from Johnson, scoring 23 points to open a 49-26 cushion.

“Overall, it was a good win for us,” CHS girls coach Jeff Reed said. “They put a little pressure on us (in the fourth quarter), and that helped us keep our edge.”

Senior post Kayla Taylor led all scorers with 25 points for the Lady Bulldog (9-11), while junior guard Candace Pollard added 10.
