Butler then hit a 3-pointer less than a minute into the extra session, and the Coyotes never relinquished the lead. Lieb got a layup behind Fort Sumner pressure to give Dora a four-point lead with 35 seconds left. … Stinnett is averaging 22.2 points over the past six games, with five games of 21 or more.

The lead was never less than three after that. “We just moved the ball better,” CCS girls coach Max Kralicek said. “We ran the floor well, and we got several layups.” … It was the rubber match of three games between the teams this season, all at CCS. The Lady Mules lead by as many as 13 in the fourth quarter. … After getting beaten badly on the boards in Tuesday’s loss to Tulia, Muleshoe held its own against Floydada. “Tulia just killed us on the boards,” Muleshoe coach Val Acree said. “We worked on it this week in practice. We didn’t allow many second chances tonight and we got quite a few ourselves.”
