Clovis (10-7) at Rio Rancho (10-7)
7 p.m. today, Rio Rancho High School
Radio:
KCLV-AM 1240, KICA-FM 98.3.
How they got here: The Rams suffered a 61-60 loss Friday night against Hobbs, snapping a four-game winning streak. Clovis coach J.D. Isler went to Albuquerque early to scout the Rams, and said he expected them to take the same type of plan into tonight. The Wildcats are looking to stop a three-game  skid, and have been idle since Tuesday’s 69-61 setback to Trinity Christian (Lubbock).
Last meeting: 2008, Clovis 105-68.
Rams players to watch: C Patrick Horgan (6-6, So.), G Jorel Johnson (6-1, Sr.).
Things to watch for: Isler said a key is for senior post Arthur Calbert to stay out of foul trouble. He has played less than 20 minutes in Clovis’ last two contests, and is Clovis’ most reliable double-figure scorer behind Jaye Crockett, who had 35 in Tuesday’s setback. “We like Jaye to score a lot of points, but we don’t want him to score more than half of our points,” Isler said. … Isler said he wants senior guards Tanner Adams, Bryan Pierson and Stefan Mills to look for their shot a little more. Isler said the Wildcats need more offense because at 58.0 points allowed per night, “We’re guarding people well enough to be winning these games.”
