The Clovis Wildcat football team failed to land any first-teamers on the New Mexico Class 5A All-State football team released Thursday, but did post six second-team positions.
Clovis running back Stefan Mills joined fellow seniors Lance Lukkar (offensive line), Scott McMath (special teams and secondary), Lane Ward (linebacker) and Morris Sharp (defensive line/outside linebacker) on the second-team All-State list.
Four other Wildcats earned honorable mention on the list, including Emery Sierra (linebacker), Marcus Ricketson (lineman), Denzel Pleasant (secondary) and Andrew North (kicker).
The state champion Las Cruces Bulldawgs led all teams with 12 players on the first-team list, and the runner-up Eldorado Eagles put 10 players on the first team.
Clovis lost to Eldorado in the Class 5A state football semifinals.
