As they did in the New Mexico Class 3A state football playoffs, the state champion Ram football team dominate the All-State team. The Portales boys landed seven starters on the first-team and two Rams made the second-team All-State on the list released Thursday.

Senior quarterback Michael Trujillo is joined by junior running back Jesus Davalos, wide receiver Shawn Carrasco and offensive lineman Adrian Gutierrez on the first-team offense.

The 3A first-team defense has a heavy Portales influence as well, with a trio of seniors. Linebacker Brandon McAfee made the list, as did Brandon Adkins and defensive lineman Ethan Grubbs.

Offensive lineman Devon Stinson and linebacker Cody Creek made second-team All-State.

Adkins and senior cornerback Logan Erf were earned honorable mention on the list.

Earlier this month the Portales Rams won the school's first football state championship in 20 years over the Lovington Wildcats 48-10 at Greyhound Stadium.
