What: Clovis (20-0) vs. Trinity Christian (21-10) When: 6 p.m. (MST) Monday. Where: Rip Griffin Center, on the campus of Lubbock Christian University. Notes: This game was added to the schedule Tuesday, and will be the Wildcats’ final game before Friday’s District 4-5A home opener against Hobbs. The Wildcats last played Friday, and got what coach J.D. Isler said was a “wake-up call” in a hard-fought 78-65 win at Artesia. The Lions, 5-3 in 1-5A TAPPS, defeated Liberty Christian 50-47 at home Saturday ... Isler said the Lions are similar to the Wildcats, with heavy perimeter shooting and a focus on transition play. He said playing a team of the Lions’ caliber, plus the venue of a college arena, will help Clovis come tournament time. Quotable: “It will help us a lot. We’ll get to play a quality team in a different gym.” — Clovis guard Stefan Mills, after the game was scheduled Tuesday. —Compiled by Kevin Wilson
