Seniors Kevin Park and Adam Hairgrove tossed in 16 points each for the Bufaloes (8-9, 0-1). • In District 5-1A, senior guard Ross McClaran scored 18 points and Farwell (11-15, 3-3) built a 16-point lead after one quarter en route to a 52-46 win at Bovina. Senior Ivan Solis led three players in double figures for the Mustangs (7-15, 1-5) with 13 points. n In a District 2-2A game featuring 20 3-point baskets, Dimmitt (15-11, 4-3) erased an eight-point deficit in the final quarter to edge Muleshoe 51-47. Patrick Precure, who had three of Muleshoe’s eight trifectas, and Cooper Washington finished with nine points apiece for the Mules (11-10, 4-3). • In a rematch of last March’s Class 1A state championship game, Dora outlasted Gateway Christian 62-60 at Roswell. Gateway beat the Coyotes in last year’s title clash. Senior Wesley Skelley led the Coyote charge with 14 points, followed by junior Jeremy Butler’s 12 points. Junior Kyler Smith added 11 points and senior Hector Fierro contributed 10. “It was a tight game,” Dora head coach Ty Thatcher said. “Finally we captured the lead with a few minutes left in the game and snuck out with a win.” The Coyotes (11-4, 1-0) resume district play when they host Fort Sumner (8-5, 1-0) Tuesday night. — Freedom New Mexico
