City Manger Al Pierce revealed that he will recommend to the City Commission tonight one of the largest budgets in the history of Tucumcari. As prepared for commission's consideration, the tentative budget through the 1966-67 fiscal year is set at $1,423,056. The present budget is only $1,292,234.

 

Pam Reid of Tucumcari went down in the thirteenth round of the National Spelling Bee when she spelled "nephritis" with an "f."

 

Tucumcari's summer recreation program director Charles Maciel said today that attendance for the first week of the summer program is better than expected with 603 persons participating.

 

The Tucumcari Elks Lodge will break ground tonight (June 15) at 6 p.m. for their new $172,000 lodge building near the doctor Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital. Members of the committee headed by Emmet Hart and exalted ruler Bill Parker will take part in the ceremony.
