This fishing report, provided by the Department of Game and Fish and thefishphone.com, has been generated from the best information available from area officers, anglers, guides and local businesses.

Coyote Creek - Flow is 0.51 cfs. Fishing is reported as good when using Power Bait, salmon eggs and worms.

Pecos River - Flows near Pecos is 52 cfs. Stoneflies! They're out just above town all the way to Terrero. The fish still want the nymph over the dry fly but that could change as the hatch progresses. The water levels are low and the fishing is good. Small to medium stonefly nymphs, small pheasant tails, baetis nymphs, caddis nymphs and zebra midges are some of the fly choices. Of course spinners, worms, Power Bait and salmon eggs will work here too.

Conchas Lake – Fishing is reported as fair for large mouth bass with top water rigs. Walleye are fishing good when trolling in 10-15 feet of water using jigs tipped with worms. No report on other species.

Storrie Lake – Fishing is reported as fair to good for trout using fireballs, corn and cheese.

Sumner Lake - Sumner Lake remains closed indefinitely to boating until further notice due to tests indicating the potential presence of quagga mussel veligers or larva.

The New Mexico State Parks Division and the Department of Game and Fish officials do not have a timeline for reopening the lake to boating. Sumner Lake State Park will remain open for camping and other recreational activities.

Ute Lake – Water Temp is 67 degrees, main lake clear, river arms stained. Fishing is good to excellent. Night crawlers are working better than minnows for walleye and bass right now. Walleye are fishing good to excellent. Fish crank baits over brush in 10 feet of water or try crawlers in 20 feet of water. White bass are fishing fair to good. Large and smallmouth bass reported as good to excellent. For the smallies, try the top water early in the mornings and Senkos whacky rigged later in the day. The largemouth are on their beds in 4-6 feet of water. Crappie are fishing fair. The upper Canadian remains the place to go for them. Casting small grubs or minnows in 4-6 feet of water. Channel cats fishing fair to good. They are now starting to be caught in the main lake and its coves. You can still catch them up the river arms, but the bigger fish have moved into the main lake. Use stink baits or chicken livers in 4-8 feet of water. Fish near reeds and brush for the best results.
