At J.C. Penny’s, corduroy jackets were only $7.77, large bathroom towels were 68 cents each, khaki pants were $2.50 a pair,women’s shoes sold for $2 and long winter coats sold for $15.

The Crescent Creamery located on East Main Street offered a two cent trade-in with return of one of their “Two Toter” milk containers.

K.N. McBride announced the purchase of Dickinson Motors and the opening of McBride Oldsmobile.

Charles Magruder, Jack Ellison and E.E. Rivers represented the Tucumcari Chamber of Commerce at the New Mexico State Corporation Commission in Santa Fe to protest the proposed gas rate increase by the Southern Union Gas Co. The proposed increase was $1.3 million, which would have affected 22 communities in served in the state including Tucumcari.
